These are some photos that I took of the Calumet County Courthouse in Chilton. This was on Monday September 9, 2013. I was driving home from the Door County Century on this day, and I photographed several county courthouses along the way. Calumet County was the last courthouse of the trip – by the time I got to Chilton the overcast that is apparent in my photos from Kewaunee and Manitowoc is gone and it’s a beautiful summer day.
I love the logo by the side entrance of the courthouse, it’s the same as the county seal. The caption is: “we extend the Calumet to all mankind.”
These are the photos that I took in Manitowoc and Two Rivers on September 9, 2013. I was on my way home from the Door County Century, and I drove through Two Rivers to Manitowoc along Lake Michigan on Highway 42. It was an overcast Monday morning, so the picture of downtown Manitowoc from the rest stop in Two Rivers is a little hazy, but you can still see the dome of the courthouse.

These are some photos that I took on Saturday September 8, 2012 in Algoma. This was the evening before the Door County Century bike ride and I was staying at a small motel in Algoma because I had waited too long to make a reservation at a more convenient motel in Door County. Actually, it was not too bad – it was much cheaper to stay in Algoma and I was only about a half hour’s drive from the Door County fairgrounds where the bike ride began and ended.
So after dealing with all the details in Sturgeon Bay on Saturday, I was back in Algoma in the evening to have dinner and walk on the beach and the breakwater.
I took these photos on September 9, 2013 as I was driving home from the Door County Century bike ride on the previous day. I took Highway 42 south along Lake Michigan as far as Manitowoc. So I had a chance to see something of Kewaunee County. I stopped in the city of Kewaunee to take these pictures of the courthouse. Unfortunately it was an overcast Monday morning, so there was not a particularly good view of Lake Michigan from the courthouse.

We took these photos on January 20, 2013. We drove up to Baraboo for a wine tasting at the Von Klaus Winery tasting room which happens to be right across the street from the courthouse. It was a cold and windy Sunday afternoon, so we took the pictures as quickly as we could and then headed in to the tasting room to warm up.
These are the first courthouse photos to be taken after I had started this Wisconsin courthouse project.
