These photos were taken on June 25, 2013 in Monroe. I took a day off from work and we drove to Monroe to walk around, have lunch and then do the Minhas Brewery tour. It was overcast and looked like rain for most of the day, so the photos are a little dark. We walked around the square before lunch – not sure what the significance of the painted wooden figures is, but they were fun. We stopped by Turner Hall but they weren’t open for lunch on that day, so we ate at the Suisse Haus nearby and it was good. After lunch we did the brewery tour; sadly no photos are permitted on the actual tour, but I will say that it is one of the best brewery tours I’ve been on. And the “tasting room” is a lot of fun too.
These are some photos from a bike trip I did on September 2, 2012 from New Glarus to Monroe and back. I rode on the Sugar River State Trail from New Glarus to just past Monticello and then turned onto the Badger State Trail to ride to Monroe. In Monroe I visited Twining Park, which is adjacent to the trail and then rode downtown to see some of the sights, including the courthouse.
The ride back always seems shorter because it is more or less downhill, at least from Monroe to Monticello. When I got back to New Glarus, I put the bike on the car and drove to the New Glarus Brewing Company’s tasting room for a beer before heading home.

I visited the Fond du Lac County “courthouse” (actually the City County Government Center) on Sunday July 20, 2014. I was on my way home from the Door County Triathlon and detoured through Fond du Lac to make my quick visit. I hadn’t been in downtown Find du Lac in many years, but it was fairly early on a Sunday morning, so there was little traffic to worry about.
The Government Center is a very nice building and the grounds are well-maintained. Across the street is Veterans Park which I also visited. I took a photo of the Civil War memorial.

I visited Oshkosh on Friday July 4, 2014; I was on my way home after visiting my parents on the Fourth of July. I made a slight diversion through Oshkosh to stop at the courthouse for some pictures and then stopped for a few more photos at the EAA Museum on my way back to Highway 41.
I like the courthouse building a lot, but it’s difficult to get a good picture of the front of the courthouse because of all the trees!
